The Remembrance Sunday Service on Sunday 14th November starting 10.45am in Cadmore End Church will be lead by Judy Taylor with “Heddi” playing the organ. This will be followed by refreshments in the Village Hall. Do join us to remember those from this village who died in the two world wars and all killed or wounded in these, later conflicts and training.
“Wear your Poppy with Pride”. Note that with no door to door poppy collections this year that poppies are available in the Lane End shops now and on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th November at Laceys Farm Shop from 9.30am until 4.00pm.
The Harvest Festival Service and Supper held on 17th October were well attended. Thanks to all who donated produce which was nicely displayed in the church and then delivered to the two food banks we support where it was gratefully received.
Food Bank weekly collections. We take donated food and household items each week to the Community Matters Lane End Food Bank and the One Can Trust in High Wycombe on alternate Fridays. Both take fresh produce and deliver it promptly to the clients. Please leave donations in the Church porch on Thursday afternoons or up to 10.00am on Fridays.
At The Community Meeting held on the 21st October the presentation by the “Nave Project Group” outlined the need to retile the Nave roof and additional work to make the church of benefit to the wider community to ensure this focal point of our village is here for the next 100 years. The priority choices proposed were accepted. The project group were thanked for their considerable work on this. The next stage is to raise funds and apply for grants.
