A belated Happy New Year to all in the Village.

Christmas in The Village. (A further, belated, update);  Congratulations to the Carol Singers who braved the elements on the 3 (?) nights before Christmas and raised an impressive sum in excess of £500 for Christian Aid.  Respect!

Departure of the Scotts. Very sadly the “Farewell Party “planned for Roy & Rita on 15th Dec had to be cancelled as it was thought to be an unnecessary risk on account of….you guessed it…..Covid.  A great pity as it was an opportunity for the Village to bid them a fond farewell and express gratitude for all they have done for the Village over many years. We wish them a very happy and fulfilling life in Lincolnshire near their daughter.

One Can/Community Matters Collections. For those who may be unaware donations are collected from the church every Friday morning 10.00 a.m approx. They are donated on alternate weeks to One Can Charity in High Wycombe (there was a recent article in the Press mentioning that High Wycombe is one of the poorest and therefore neediest in the country) and on the alternate Friday to “Community Matters” in Lane End. Below is a heart-warming message of gratitude from Barabara Ewing the Co-ordinator in Lane End. It’s good to know our donations are appreciated.

“Many thanks again for the wonderful donations from all the Cadmore End people.  We usually expect donations to lower after the festive season, but true to form the donations of Cadmore End never fail to amaze us.” and more “Lucy Smith and I had a full day today with families coming not only for provisions but also to sit and talk about their lives, problems and needs.  Many times they tell us good news about a new job, children's success stories, medical problems solved, etc.  But often not such good news.”
