Cadmore End News January 2021
A different and quiet CHRISTMAS in Cadmore End. A star turn on Christmas Eve was a house to house visit by Father Christmas in full regalia much enjoyed by the young and young at heart.
Also a tree with lights and baubles was put up by the church porch and flower arrangements in the porch keeping the spirit of Christmas alive for locals, walkers and the many attending graves. Inside the church the Crib and other Bethlehem scenes were on display for those who popped in. Our thanks to all who set up the tree, the lights, the arrangements and displays.
It is regretted that due to our Tier 4 status in the Covid pandemic there will be no Church Services in January. However the Rector is leading a Sunday Service and a Wednesday Morning Prayer each week for the South Chiltern group of churches. If you would like details and the internet links please email Clare at the Parish Office parishoffice.sctc@gmail.com .
One Can Collections. Our weekly donations continue to be gratefully received.
An extract from their report for week ending 21st December on pre Christmas donations--“May I start with a huge thank you to everyone who has been so incredibly generous with donations over the past few days. The fresh fruit and veg in particular has been incredible” --. In a recent week they were providing food for 567 people of which 268 were children. Collections start again in the Church Porch on Thursday 7th January and will be delivered to One Can on Friday morning the 8th January.
Let us hope for a return to “normal” in 2021 with some Village Events. Meanwhile enjoy exercise on our many footpaths with sparrows and robins chirping in the hedgerows.
