Carol Singing. It is planned that Carol Singers will be out and about on Cadmore Common, and in Bolter End and Cadmore End on the 3 nights before Christmas (Frid. 22nd – Sun. 24th Dec.) Fresh volunteers of all ages are especially welcome to lend a voice (on one or more evenings) to join the band of usual volunteers.  All money raised will again go Christian Aid.

Community Matters Foodbank, Trinity Church, Lane End. Our village’s continued support and concern was especially welcomed last month as our additional, hefty delivery was unexpected following our Harvest Festival Service contributions.  Particularly welcome were the fresh items (loaves of sliced bread, butter, cheeses, fruits and vegetables).  In addition, the cash contributions enabled a washing machine to supplied to a grateful family.

Other matters

The Commons received their second and final cut of the season courtesy of the parish council.  The two Council notices on School Common ("Keep off" & "10 mph"?) were straightened and cleaned by David Simpson to whom our thanks go keeping the village in shape.

Two MacMillan Coffee Mornings held this year.  The first, run by Valerie Plumridge, was held at the church while the other was run by Jan Brown at Pickett House a week later.  Each raised a similar amount totalling over £700 which went to MacMillan’s cancer research.  Valerie and Jan thank all those who supported the events and so generously donated.
