Cadmore End News November 2022
The Remembrance Day Service in Cadmore End Church on Sunday 13th November will start at 10.50am with the 2minute silence at 11.00am. The Service will be led by the Reverend Lucy Austin with organist Gill Green. Do join us to remember those named on the War Memorial of this Village, others known to us and those bereaved or wounded in recent conflicts.
The MacMillan Coffee Morning hosted by Jan and Douglas Brown held on 30th September raised £600 for this cancer care support charity. Our thanks to all. In early October the Harvest Thanksgiving Service and Harvest Supper were well attended.
Lily Parker RIP. Sad to advise that Lily has passed away. She and her late husband Jock ran the Old Ship up to 1991. Her family had run this pub from 1919 when it was bought by her grandfather. It is said that he sold a pig to buy the pub. Her daughter Sue Ludgate has advised that the funeral is on Friday 11th November at 3.15pm at Amersham Crematorium followed by afternoon tea in Cadmore End Village Hall at 5pm. All who knew her are invited to join the family in the Hall.
