Cadmore End News July 2022
Our Platinum Jubilee Celebration Picnic on 5th June was held in the Village Hall with about 60 people attending. It was a great success and a memorable village event. A star turn was the powerful solo singing of the first two verses of the National Anthem by 8-year-old Francis Carney. Our thanks to Judith and Janet for organising this function.
The Lane End “Community Matters” Team supports about 25 families in poverty who have been referred. Most of these are working families whose situation is worsening with fears of worse to come in the autumn. We have therefore decided to stop our deliveries to the One Can Trust foodbank in High Wycombe and focus our support on Lane End. More donations of food and household items are requested. Do donate if you can. Suggested items from these:
Food items-Pasta Sauces, Tinned Tomatoes, Baked Beans, Tinned Hot Dogs, Meatballs in Tomato Sauce, Coffee/Tea, Squash sugar free, Tins/Cartons of Custard, Microwaveable Rice, Jams, Peanut Butter, Cereals for children.
Household items-Laundry powder/capsules, Washing up liquid,
Shower Gel, Toilet Rolls, Kitchen Rolls, Shampoo, Fabric Conditioner, Cleaning products.
We deliver every two weeks.
Dates for July are Fridays 1st July, 15th July, 29th July. Please leave donations in the Church Porch on the Thursday before or up to 10.00am on the Friday.
Also, monetary donations to their separate bank account (monthly or one off) can be made, contact Clifford for details.
