Village AGM Minutes of Meeting held on the 9th May were emailed out on the 10th..  Our thanks to the 8 people who turned out for the Village Tidy on the 11th May, especially from those of us who were away.  Ivy was cleared, grass strimmed and a new compost bin built.

Anna May talk--On the evening of 10th May around 35 people gathered in the Village Hall for an event hosted by Anna May.  She showed a short film she had made and talked about her work with the Student Grief Network, an organisation she set up whilst at Leeds university, and continues to run. It was a successful evening, allowing people to think and talk about a subject that isn’t always openly discussed. For more information on Anna’s work see studentgriefnetwork.co.uk.

David Lane RIP-Sadly David passed away on the 6th May.  Our sympathy and prayers go to Sue, their two daughters, family and friends.  They lived at Picket House when their children were young, then moved to Oxfordshire and then returned to live at Cadmore End House.  We will miss this cheerful man who was a long time supporter of The Old Ship.

Community Matters, Lane End Food Bank and Support Team-Our next monthly delivery is on Thursday 20th June.  Please leave donations in the church or church porch on the Wednesday before or by 10am on the Thursday.

The Team thanked for our May donations.  “Once again the generosity of Cadmore End is amazing.  Your donations are exactly what the foodbank families need. The past few days have been extremely busy at our foodbank and we have seen many Lane End families.

Currently we are endeavouring to help quite a few families who have ill family members needing regular treatment and medical examinations many miles from Lane End.  We are providing financial assistance for transport, parking and medication when it is not given free from NHS.

Thank you all once more for your gifts.”
